About MFTH

Music For The Hearts (MFTH) is a division of the BC Schizophrenia Society (BCSS), a province-wide, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families coping with schizophrenia.

As a group of dedicated volunteers, we combine our interest in music with our passion for health to instigate positive changes within our community's mental health services via organizing annual fundraising musical concerts.

Our Mission

To raise public mental health awareness and to positively impact research and community services in supporting those affected by schizophrenia.

What We Have Achieved

  • Active since January 2014

  • Hosted 6 successful musical concerts

  • To date, raised and donated a net amount of $20,150

  • Contributed to the greatest needs, ER Equipment Campaign, and the purchase of a pediatric bronchoscope for the Operating Room of Eagle Ridge Hospital

  • Contributed to BC Schizophrenia Society for 2 consecutive years before joining the organization in 2019 to support mental health services at a provincial level

Founded in 2014, MFTH started as a spark, an idea to go above and beyond in supporting the well-being of others by coordinating community effort in implementing a positive influence. Since then, MFTH has developed a key focus on raising mental health awareness at a provincial level through numerous collaborations with the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society (BCSS).

In 2019, MFTH joined forces with BCSS as one unit to make a concerted effort to advocating for better services, educating the public, and raising funds to directly support individuals and families coping with schizophrenia and other serious and persistent mental illnesses.
