Music For The Hearts 2016
The Music For The Hearts Committee hosted its 3rd annual fundraising musical concert at the grand, beautiful St. Laurence Anglican Church in Coquitlam to benefit Eagle Ridge Hospital's Campaign for New Operating Room Equipment.
This concert was proudly sponsored financially by Mrs. Fariba Kaheh, Dr. Maria Gholami, and EduMate Learning; without their generous donations, this event would not have been possible.
The committee is grateful to receive its first-time media sponsorship from the award-winning director and producer of Aria TV show, Mr. Ramin Mohseni. Aria TV is a prestigious show that is live weekly on Shaw Multicultural and OMNI BC channels on television.
Extended appreciation goes to Mr. Fred Soofi and Mr. Farrokh Soofi, the owners of Pasta Polo & Brick Oven Pizza, for sponsoring MFTH 2016 with assortment of delicious pasta, pizza, and appetizers. Many thanks to Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Cobs Bread, Starbucks Coffee, Thrifty Foods, Safeway, Real Canadian Superstore, and Save-on-Foods for sponsoring this fundraiser multiple of times over the years.
Last but not least, the committee appreciates and recognizes Ms. Yasaman Hoorfar at Piksel Designs for volunteering her time to design our event posters for 3 consecutive years.
The 3rd annual Music For The Hearts received strong support from Ellen Chen Piano Studio. For the third time in a row, Mrs. Ellen Chen encouraged her students to perform for a great cause; these young and talented musicians delivered a spectacular performance throughout the night. As well, we were honoured to share the talents of other individuals who contacted us independently and were eager to contribute: in alphabetical order, these talented individuals were Ariana Ansari, Emilie Zhang, Ghazal Farshchian, Kiana Kianpoor, Kiarash Kianpoor, Mahsa Movahedan, Parsa Kiani, and Sobhan Mardan. MFTH 2016 featured several well-known classical pieces and traditional Eastern music for its audience.
During the Appreciation Ceremony, all performers received awards to recognize and appreciate their individual hard work and contribution towards this musical fundraiser.
With the kind support received from St. Laurence Anglican Church, generous financial and food sponsors, talented musicians, and over 150 individuals who attended the event, the MFTH Committee raised $2,700 in its 3rd annual event!
All of the raised funds were donated to the Operating Room of Eagle Ridge Hospital to aid the purchase of a much-needed pediatric bronchoscope.
"It is absolutely incredible to witness that moment when many people, young and old, join hands to make a true, lasting difference in their community. Essentially, this is what Music For The Hearts is all about - to collaborate with diverse individuals in making our community health services better capable of providing care for all."
